Most of the game is set in a dark environment, so I worked on lighting and shading in such a way that your overview path would be visible (shown in red in this test, which forms a line from the player all the way to the planet in the distance).
There are super dark areas, which during fighting scenes would have a nice strobe effect, but the player can also collect flares and has access to terrain scan visualizations.
